Let's face it. We think of church as the place you go to on Sunday mornings. But what about the other 6 days of the week? How are we doing God's mission Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday? As Christians, we are to live our faith everyday, so we are beginning a 35-week program through The Visitor (and repeated in the Sunday bulletin) to help each one of us focus on how God through Jesus Christ works in our lives each day.
As members of a United Methodist Church, we are to "to be loyal to Christ through the United Methodist Church" and "to faithfully participate in its ministries by our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service and our witness." Using these five areas that are underlined, each week, in what was The Pastor Chatter box of our weekly newsletter, we will more thoroughly highlight the one question for you to focus on for that week.
We will eventually cover 7 main areas of your life, with a 5-week focus on each area. The acronym we are using is SERVGOD and it stands for:

Vocation (Job, volunteering or school)
Global (Our nation and world)
Others (My community)
Divine (My Church)
Each week, in our newsletter (which you can access using the menu to the left of our web pages) and on the main page of our web site, we will have a focus question for you to work with in your life.
