Education
We Learn About Being Servants For Christ in our Education Program.
Sunday School Classes meet at 10:10 a.m. - 11:10 a.m. (Sept.- May) for all ages. We welcome your presence and encourage your participation in these small-group experiences of Christian growth and caring relationships. If you don't find a group that seems to be what you are looking for, please call our Christian Education Coordinator (Rose Rodriguez) at the church office - 258-0119.
Children's Sunday School - Our "Rotation Model" curriculum has been developed with your child's level of understanding in mind. This is a priority ministry. Our age-based program is available for kids from toddlers through High School. They all meet Sunday mornings in our Education Wing connected to the church at 10:10am.
We also have a week-long Vacation Bible School for children in the summer.
Wednesday JAMZ (Jesus and Me Zone)- Children in grades Kindergarten through 5th meet Wednesdays from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm as they have fun "Jamming" as Christians.
Middle School Youth - Our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders gather every Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 7:00, in Fellowship Hall, to "actively" learn about their faith.
Senior High Youth - Our youth in grades 9-12 come from all over Sioux City and area communities. The Senior High meet weekly (Sunday evenings) as a group from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm here at the church.
Adult Classes - We also realize the importance of adult Christian Education and so offer classes to suit your needs. They meet in various locations throughout the church, with 3 classes meeting regularly on Sunday mornings from 10:10 - 11:10. These include: Adult Bible Study (Room 214); 30 Minutes w / the Bible (Fellowship Hall); & Wesley Class (Heritage Room)
The Adult Bible Study is a more traditional Bible Study that meets in a non-traditional place. They meet at North Park Senior Living and is open to anyone who lives there or not. This year, they are going through the book of Matthew.
30 Minutes with the Bible starts off each class with some social time. Classtime is scheduled around various participants taking turns presenting a topic chosen by the leaders (Pat Kirkegaard & Rolene Beauvais). Topics include discussion on current issues, Methodist doctrine and Bible passages.
Wesley Class is a discussion of current events and issues that are happening in the world today and how the church should or should not be involved (led by Bruce Lear).
Short-Term & Independent Study Classes - We offer short-term classes and small-group opportunities as they become available, as well as individual study opportunities through our newsletter and other ways.
